Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 whole egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter with brown and granulated sugars until smooth. Add the vanilla extract, whole egg, and egg yolk. Mix well.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes:
- For an extra crispy texture, ensure your butter is fully melted and the cookies are baked until just golden around the edges.
- Storing the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking can help in handling the dough better and also enhance flavor.
- These cookies store well in an airtight container for up to a week.
