Ingredients

  • For the Crust:
    • 1 ½ cups crushed Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
    • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • For the Cream Cheese Layer:
    • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cold milk
    • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed
  • For the Chocolate Pudding Layer:
    • 2 cups cold milk
    • 2 (3.9 oz) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  • For the Topping:
    • 2 cups whipped topping, thawed
    • Chocolate shavings, for garnish
    • Mini chocolate chips, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine crushed Oreo cookies with melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish. Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.
  2. Cream Cheese Layer: In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons milk until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping. Spread over the crust. Place back in the fridge to chill while preparing the next layer.
  3. Chocolate Pudding Layer: In another large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and 2 cups of cold milk until thickened. Spread over the cream cheese layer. Allow to settle and thicken for a few minutes if necessary.
  4. Final Layer: Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer. Garnish with chocolate shavings and mini chocolate chips. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.

  • Variations: For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free cookies for the crust. To make this dessert vegan, opt for vegan cream cheese, plant-based milk, vegan whipped topping, and a vegan-friendly chocolate pudding mix.
