  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 slices crispy cooked bacon, crumbled

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Bourbon Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp bourbon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Donuts:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar.
    • In another bowl, combine milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the crumbled bacon.
    • Fill the donut pan cavities about 2/3 full with the batter.
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before removing from the pan.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

    • In a shallow bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
    • Brush each warm donut with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating evenly.
  • Bourbon Whipped Cream:

    • In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.
    • Add powdered sugar, bourbon, and vanilla extract. Continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
    • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Serve:

    • Top each donut with a dollop of bourbon whipped cream and enjoy!

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon in the whipped cream.
