- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chunks.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
