Spicy Honey Jalapeño Chicken Skewers are a delicious combination of sweet and spicy flavors, grilled to perfection and paired with a tangy cilantro lime dip. This recipe is quick, easy, and perfect for BBQs or family dinners. Whether you’re a seasoned grill master or a beginner, these skewers will impress with their flavor and simplicity.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Skewers:

  • pounds chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, finely minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

For the Cilantro Lime Dip:

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, lime juice, jalapeños, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Toss the chicken in the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the Skewers: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked skewers.
  • Grill or Broil: Grill the skewers over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or broil until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  • Make the Dip: In a small bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Serve: Serve the hot skewers with the cilantro lime dip on the side.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of chipotle powder for extra smokiness in the marinade.
  • Use boneless, skinless thighs for juicier, more flavorful skewers.
  • For more heat, leave the seeds in the jalapeños or add a dash of hot sauce to the dip.
