Mississippi Sin Dip: The Creamy, Cheesy Indulgence You Need

  • Author: Marie Lavigne
  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Hollow out the French bread loaf, saving the top and interior for dipping later.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  • Add the shredded cheddar, diced ham, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into the hollowed-out bread loaf.
  • Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Serve with the reserved bread pieces, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Substitute ham with bacon for a different flavor profile.
  • This dip is best served hot, so keep it warm if serving over a longer period.
