Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (or cornstarch for a gluten-free option)
Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Place them in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and flour until smooth. Pour this mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker. If the gravy needs thickening, turn the slow cooker to high and let the gravy cook uncovered for a few minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
- Serve the chicken breasts with the gravy poured over them. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes:
- For a thicker gravy, you can mix an additional tablespoon of flour (or cornstarch) with a little water and stir it into the gravy during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- This dish pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
