Guide to Making the Perfect Garlic Bread

  • Author: Marie Lavigne
  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4-6 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large baguette or Italian loaf
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes for added spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, olive oil, parsley, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
  3. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves.
  4. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the buttered halves.
  5. Place on a baking sheet, cut side up, and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. For a crispier top, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  7. Cut into slices and serve warm.

Notes

    • For an extra garlic punch, add an additional clove of garlic to the butter mixture.
    • Store leftovers wrapped in foil in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven for best results.
